The City of Hazelwood seeks experienced professional to serve as its Chief of Fire and EMS.  Responsible for planning, directing and evaluating the operation of the department by managing effective relationships with full-time paid union personnel; developing and implementing policies, procedures and departmental goals; and responding to emergency situations as required.

Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of Fire and EMS best practices; five (5) years supervisory experience in Fire and EMS positions; and strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional requirements include NIMS and ICS certification as required by SEMA for Emergency Management Performance Grant eligibility within the first year.  Position requires bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Management and minimum EMT license with paramedic license preferred.

The Hazelwood Police Department has an opening for a Part-Time Dispatcher.  The job will entail shift work, weekends and holidays.  Very fast-paced position involving dispatching police, answering emergency & non-emergency telephones and multi-tasking.  Must have a high school diploma or GED, the ability to type with accuracy and speed, and must have at least one-year experience of Police Dispatching with REJIS Certification.  Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug & alcohol screening prior to being hired.  Starting salary is $19.24 per hour.  Apply by close of business on Monday, May 16, 2016, at City of Hazelwood, 415 Elm Grove Lane, Hazelwood, MO 63042, or you may e-mail an application to: applicants@hazelwoodmo.org.  An application MUST be completed for consideration.
