PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT The Public Works department is responsible for reviewing plans and issuing permits, performing housing and business inspections, maintaining liaison with MSD, Union Electric and other utility companies and governmental agencies serving the St. Louis area and administering the City's refuse collection contract and Community Development Block Grant Fund.

The Maintenance Division is responsible for construction and maintenance of city roadways, care and repair of sidewalks, snow and ice removal, tree trimming, limb chipping, leaf pickup, pot hole patching along with park maintenance.
