Employment Policy

All applicants will be given equal consideration for all positions with the City, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, or the presence of a non-job-related medical condition or disability. However, Hazelwood residents will be given preference over nonresidents for positions when all qualifications of the applicants are equal. Applicants shall not be relatives of elected City officials.


 General Philosophy of City Employment

All employees work toward the same goal, to provide efficient and economical municipal services to the citizens of Hazelwood. This can be achieved by mutual employee cooperation. The City shall not discriminate against any employee because of his activities or membership in an employee union or employee advisory committee.


Days of Pay

Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis, for the two (2) week period ending the previous Saturday, except as necessary to comply with applicable laws. Paydays are every other Friday.

MAINTENANCE WORKER

The City of Hazelwood is now accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Worker. This is a full-time position. Duties include street repair and maintenance, park maintenance, building maintenance, mowing, weed eating, and other municipal maintenance duties. Regular shift may include weekends. Valid driver's license and experience in similar work required. Starting salary $34,527 - $39,706 DOQ per year with an excellent benefit package. HAZELWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT CREATING
ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC

The Hazelwood Fire Department is now creating an eligibility list for a firefighter/paramedic. Hazelwood Offers Free Summer
Concert Series at Truman Park

Everything from a tribute to Elvis Presley to the classic rock sounds to the jumpin' dance tunes performed by the Bob Kuban Band will be featured in Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division's first ever "Summer Concert Series" at Truman Park, 7029 Howdershell Road, in Hazelwood. Six bands will be playing "live" music from the new gazebo on Saturday nights from May 21 to August 13.
