Employment Policy

However, Hazelwood residents will be given preference over nonresidents for positions when all qualifications of the applicants are equal. Applicants shall not be relatives of elected City officials.

 General Philosophy of City Employment

All employees work toward the same goal, to provide efficient and economical municipal services to the citizens of Hazelwood. This can be achieved by mutual employee cooperation. The City shall not discriminate against any employee because of his activities or membership in an employee union or employee advisory committee.

Days of Pay

Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis, for the two (2) week period ending the previous Saturday, except as necessary to comply with applicable laws. Paydays are every other Friday.

Duties include street repair and maintenance, park maintenance, building maintenance, mowing, weed eating, and other municipal maintenance duties. Regular shift may include weekends. Valid driver's license and experience in similar work required. Starting salary $34,527 - $39,706 DOQ per year with an excellent benefit package. ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC

The Hazelwood Fire Department is now creating an eligibility list for a firefighter/paramedic.
