Parks

The City of Hazelwood is home to 16 community parks and one Sports Complex for a combined total of 178.71 acres of parkland. The parks are open daily from 5:00a.m.-9:00pm. A resident card is not required to enjoy the City's parks.

How to Reserve a Park Pavilion

Park pavilions may be reserved by:

  • Hazelwood residents for private family parties
  • Hazelwood businesses for business sponsored picnics
  • Hazelwood churches for church sponsored picnics

Making Reservations

All reservations are made on a first-come first-served basis

For Private family functions:

Hazelwood residents may reserve a park pavilion at either Recreation Office. A current resident card is required. Reservations must be made in person by the individual who will be responsible for the picnic. Individuals reserving pavilions are required to be in attendance for the duration of the picnic.

For Hazelwood Business and Church Picnics:

Businesses and churches located within Hazelwood must submit a written request for the use of a park pavilion on business letterhead to the Recreation Ofice.

Items to be included in the letter are:

  • Date of picnic

  • Park to be used

  • Time of arrival to and departure from the Park

  • Number to attend the function

  • If alcohol will be served

  • Any special requests such as pony rides, vehicles on the grounds for drop-off and pick-up at pavilion

Requests may be mailed to the Recreation Office or faxed to 731-0989. Written requests will be addressed by the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation and a written response will be mailed.

General Information

Alcohol, beer and wine ONLY -no hard liquor-by permit ONLY.

NO GLASS containers in the park.

Pavilions may be reserved 11:00a.m.-9:00p.m.

There is no electricity in any park pavilion.

Bands and/or live musical entertainment is not allowed to perform at park pavilions in conjunction with park reservation as they cannot meet the City's sound ordinance requirements. Boom boxes with tape or CD entertainment only may be permitted if the sound can be heard no more than 50 feet away from the source of the sound.

Picnic Kits

Picnic kits are available to check-out from the Community Center Office, 1186 Teson Road, on the day of your reservation. A $50 deposit, made payable by check, is required. Kits contain equipment to enjoy the parks amenities such as softball, horseshoes, frisbees, volleyball,etc.

Hazelwood Offers Free Summer
Concert Series at Truman Park

Everything from a tribute to Elvis Presley to the classic rock sounds to the jumpin' dance tunes performed by the Bob Kuban Band will be featured in Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division's first ever "Summer Concert Series" at Truman Park, 7029 Howdershell Road, in Hazelwood. Six bands will be playing "live" music from the new gazebo on Saturday nights from May 21 to August 13.
