MO Bottom Road Remains Closed

Missouri Bottom Road from Tulip Tree Lane to St. Louis Mills Boulevard is closed and will not be re-opened until the reconstruction project for this roadway is finished.  The project is expected to begin in fall 2011 and be completed by the end of 2012.

Ignoring road closure barriers, moving them or driving around them are considered violations of City ordinances.  Motorists who are caught doing these activities can be ticketed and/or potentially fined.

"We have put up road closure barriers on Missouri Bottom Road at Tulip Tree Lane and at St. Louis Mills Boulevard for public safety reasons.  This section of road is currently unstable and presents a risk to motorists traveling on it," said David Stewart, Hazelwood's director of public works/city engineer.  "The city of Hazelwood has decided to keep the road closed in preparation for the reconstruction project."
