City Mayor Introduces
2010 Miss Hazelwood

Mayor Matthew Robinson officially introduced Hazelwood West High School student Nikki Napolitano, age 18, as the new 2010 Miss Hazelwood at a recent City Council meeting.

Napolitano's sponsor for the 2010 Miss Hazelwood Coronation was Pueblo Nuevo Mexican Restaurant, located at 7401 N. Lindbergh Boulevard in Hazelwood.  Known for its tasty goat stew known as birria and serving delicious entrees such as burritos and enchiladas, Pueblo Nuevo was voted as the Best Mexican Restaurant in The Riverfront Times' (RFT's) Best of St. Louis 2009.

In addition to receiving a $500 scholarship, a $150 savings bond and other prizes, Napolitano will be representing Hazelwood at public events hosted by the City such as Halloween Happenings, the Easter Eggstravaganza and the yearly Blue Ribbon Home Award Program ceremony.  Also, she will be the City's ambassador at events outside the community such as Florissant's Valley of Flowers Parade and Creve Coeur Days.

"I'm excited to be a role model for Hazelwood and represent my community," Napolitano said.MissHzlwoodCrowning

At school, Napolitano actively participates in the Student Council and plays flute in the marching band.  Her other activities include being president of the Pep Club and serving as a VIP's member.  Although she loves art and music, Napolitano can defend herself well as a third-degree black belt in tae kwon do, something she began at age 3.  Her other passion is travelling. She's been to Europe three times and to 40 different states.

Napolitano wants to major in architecture and possibly study abroad in Europe while in college.  Her choices for college include Drury University or the University of Missouri-Columbia.
