Increases Presence in Hazelwood

The Bommarito Automotive Group recently added its 16th franchise with the acquisition of the former Valley Ford dealership, located at 675 Dunn Road. It has been renamed Bommarito Ford Superstore, increasing the company's presence in Hazelwood to four large automotive dealerships.

As part of the deal closed on March 1, former Valley Ford owner and operator Gene Sprich, Jr., joined the Bommarito Automotive Group as a consultant. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In 2009, Bommarito Automotive Group sold 1,800 more vehicles than Lou Fusz Automotive Network and moved into the #1 spot as the St. Louis market leader in car sales. Its 15 St. Louis-area franchises have maintained this coveted leadership role by selling a combined total of 21,583 new and used vehicles in 2010, according to data supplied by the Missouri Department of Revenue. Adding another franchise should help boost company sales for 2011.

Bommarito Automotive Group is one of the area's largest private companies. Revenues last year reached $834.3 million, up from $804 million in 2009. The company has invested more than $20 million in building three large dealerships in Hazelwood over the past several years: Bommarito Nissan of Hazelwood; Bommarito Honda Superstore of Hazelwood; and Bommarito Volkswagen of Hazelwood. Their workforce exceeds 150 employees.
