St. Louis County Begins
Road Work on Howdershell

The St. Louis County Highways and Traffic Department awarded a contract for road improvements this year on Howdershell Road to Pace Construction Company. The construction work is expected to be completed by the end of October 2011.

This project is funded by Federal and County funds, and will be implemented without additional cost to local taxpayers. The construction area runs along Howdershell Road from southwest Behlmann Road to northeast of Charbonier Road. The scope of work expected to be done includes the following: removal and replacement of damaged pavements, curbs, sidewalk sections; pavement surfacing and texturing; superpave asphaltic concrete overlay; and alterations to existing curb ramp configurations to better comply with federal guidelines.

All construction work will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. Lane restrictions will be in place at various times and locations on Howdershell Road. Drivers are urged to find alternative routes or allot sufficient time for daily commutes. Every effort will be made to complete the construction work as soon as possible.
