A Salute Goes to Boeing’s Hazelwood Facilities

boeingsuperhornet_304The year has ended on a high note for a local business in Hazelwood.  The U.S. Navy is awarding the Boeing Company with a $47 million dollar contract for work on the F/A-18 and the EA-18G.  Seventy percent of the work will be performed at the company’s Hazelwood facilities. 

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, this contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($36.6 million); Australia ($7 million); Canada ($501,289); Spain ($501,289); Finland ($501,289); Switzerland ($501, 289); Kuwait ($501,289); and Malaysia ($501,289) under the Foreign Military Sales Program, which facilitates sales of U.S. defense equipment to foreign governments through the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
