City of Hazelwood Welcomes New Assistant City Manager

After the announcement of Bob Frank’s retirement, the City began the process of hiring a new Assistant City Manager.  Ms. Lisa M. Powers was offered the position and began work on Jan. 15.  She was able to cross-train with Frank for two weeks before he left.  Powers previously served as the Village Administrator for the Village of Bradley, Ill., near Kankakee and about 50 miles south of Chicago.  Prior to Bradley, she served as Village Administrator in Swansea, Ill., and interned in the City of Troy, Ill.  She grew up in the Metro East area.  Powers received her Master’s of Public Administration and Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from SIUE in 2013 and 2011 respectively.  Her primary experience is in Human Resources and Economic Development.  Some of her accomplishments include writing job descriptions and an employee handbook, creating a downtown development plan, and recruiting a new hotel/banquet center, all in Bradley.
