The St. Louis Cardinals have started Spring Training down in Florida which means spring is right around the corner. It’s also time once again for Hazelwood residents to get ready for the City’s Spring Brush Collection Program. The crews will begin collecting tree limbs and shrubbery trimmings the week of March 19.
A copy of the street pick-up schedule can be found in the Parks & Recreation Activity Guide, Winter/Spring 2018 issue, pages 22-24. You can also download and print the schedule by clicking here.
Residents should stack their trimmings at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday morning of their designated street pick-up week. The cut ends should be facing the street. City crews will collect brush on each street ONE TIME ONLY so it’s important for residents to remember where their street is listed on the schedule.
Branches should not be cut into short pieces. Please do not put any wire, metal, trash, garden waste or other debris in the brush to be chipped. This could cause serious injury to the crew and damage the machinery. No stumps or limbs larger than 6″ in diameter will be taken by the City.
Trimmings done by a contractor should be hauled away by the contractor and not left at the curb for city crews to pick-up.
For any questions regarding the Spring Brush Collection Program, please contact the Street Maintenance Division at (314) 731-8701, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
