Hazelwood Parks & Recreation Division Launches Halloween Coloring Page Contest for Kids

Part of the fun of celebrating Halloween is drawing pictures of ghosts, witches and scary pumpkins.  For children living in the City of Hazelwood, they get to participate in the annual Halloween Coloring Page Contest sponsored by the Hazelwood Parks & Recreation Division.

The coloring pages for this year’s event have just been unveiled.  To download and print the coloring page for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade, click the link here.  The second coloring page for kids, 3rd Grade through 5th Grade, can be downloaded for printing purposes by clicking this link.

The rules of Hazelwood’s Halloween Coloring Page Contest are easy to follow.  Here are a few of them:

  • One entry per child
  • The coloring page must be completed by the child without assistance from siblings or parents
  • Copies of each coloring page can be picked up at the Hazelwood Community Center or Civic Center East.  They can also be downloaded for printing purposes off the City’s website at www.hazelwoodmo.org on the front page
  • Kids can turn in their coloring page entry at either recreation center anytime between now and Tues., Oct. 31
  • The coloring pages will be judged according to grade level divisions
  • All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges.  The winners will be notified on Wed., Nov. 1.

Children attending Halloween Happenings on Tues., Oct. 31, at the Hazelwood Community Center can work on their coloring pages in the Arts & Crafts Room and turn them in before they leave.  The selected winners will receive a Halloween bag filled with coloring supplies, paper pad, markers, crayons and colored pencils.  They can redeem their prizes at Civic Center East.
