Sewer Line Installed on Town & County, Road Should be Open Again By End of Feb. 2

UPDATED, 3/5/2018, 11:55 am:  The City of Hazelwood is pleased to report that everyone’s favorite short cut, Town & Country, is now open.  No more repair work on the road is expected at this time.

UPDATED, 2/23/2018, 4:30 pm:  Town & Country in Hazelwood will be closed starting 7 am on Mon., Feb. 26, 2018, for road pour back. It will be closed for at least a week following the final pour to allow the concrete to cure sufficiently to hold traffic. We will give you an update on the exact opening date when it becomes available.

UPDATED, 2/9/2018, 3:16 pm:  Town & Country will be open to traffic today at 4 pm and will remain open until Monday at 7 am.  The road will then be closed daily from 7 am to 4 pm while construction continues on the pump station.

UPDATED, 2/7/2018, 3:05 pm:  After multiple issues, Town & County should be opened back up to traffic on Fri., Feb. 9.  Mr. Bates, the project manager, said the crew will be backfilling the road.  He also said the road will need to be closed again at some point to pour back the slabs.  But not sure when this will occur.

UPDATED, 1/31/2018, 4:21 pm:  The contractor contacted Hazelwood and their crew has run into some trouble today.  Town & Country will remain closed through Tues., Feb. 6, and will reopen (tentatively) on Wed., Feb. 7.

MSD has closed Town and Country, between Lynn Haven and Haven Tree, to remove a pump station and put in a new sewer line.  The road will be backfilled and passable on Fri., Feb. 2.  Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes on Candlelight or Elm Grove.  The City will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Road construction crews will need to close the road again to pour back the slabs, but that will be dependent on weather conditions.  Mr. Bates, the project manager, is going to try to do one lane at a time to prevent another full closure.  But if he’s looking at weeks between possible breaks in the weather, he may have to do it all at one time.  The road will not be able to carry traffic for 7 days once the concrete is poured.  For questions, call Mr. Bates at (314) 575-0311.

The City of Hazelwood will keep everyone updated as the process moves forward.
