To celebrate this momentous occasion, Cabela’s founder Jim Cabela and CEO Tommy Millner visited the St. Louis Mills location and gave away BIG prizes, money and vehicles to their store employees to reward them for their hard work, commitment and incredible sales success.
Thousands of dollars in prizes were awarded to the store employees. Eligible store employees were entered into drawings for prizes and 10 names were drawn as finalists for each award. Store employee Taylor Quallen won the Store of the Year Grand Prize, which was a 2009 Ranger 188VX boat, motor and trailer. The Customer Service Store of the Year Grand Prize went to store employee Katie Adams. She won a brand new Ford F-150.
The Cabela’s Store of the Year is awarded to the retail store that leads the company in operational efficiency. The Customer Service Store of the Year is awarded to the store that provides the most outstanding level of Cabela’s legendary customer service.
As the World’s foremost outfitter, Cabela’s passionately serves people who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle by delivering innovation, quality and value in its products and services. The company’s core values include superior customer service, integrity and honesty, quality products and services, respect for individuals and excellence in performance.
“We’re excited about having a Cabela’s in Hazelwood,” said Mayor Matthew Robinson of Hazelwood. “Many of our residents, as well as other sports aficionados living in the bi-state region, enjoy the great outdoors and depend on Cabela’s for their outfitting and equipment needs. We also salute the corporate management for going all out to award and recognize their valued employees. At a time when workers are getting laid off across America and many feel underappreciated, it’s nice to see a company show appreciation to its employees.”
The City of Hazelwood formed a partnership with Cabela’s to finance a Wildlife Museum inside the store for the following reasons: to help drive traffic to St. Louis Mills; to generate additional sales; and to provide an educational experience for thousands of school-age children on a yearly basis.
