Since this past Fourth of July marked our nation’s 237th birthday and celebrated the date when our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence, the City of Hazelwood especially wants to salute all of our veterans and current military troops for the sacrifices they have made to protect the liberties and freedom we enjoy today!
The ones who came to the park early to stake out a good spot to watch the fireworks were entertained by a high-octane band of five members known as Plastic from 7 pm to 9 pm. They played a lot of ’80’s retro dance music and incorporated top hits from the ’90’s and today into their musical mix. Afterwards, Mayor Robinson addressed the crowd and announced the retirement of Hazelwood’s City Manager Ed Carlstrom who was given the honors of starting the fireworks by lighting the first rocket shell.
Here are some photos capturing the night’s festivities.
