This is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by Hazelwood’s city government and management staff.
The CAFR prepared by Hazelwood’s Finance Department has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including the demonstration of a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” which clearly communicates the financial story and motivates potential users and user groups to read it. The document is available for viewing at http://www.hazelwoodmo.org/index.php/city-government/departments/finance.html.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional organization serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Ill., and Washington, D.C.
