Her partner was firefighter/paramedic Jeff Rudloff of the Robertson Fire Protection District, which covers part of the Hazelwood area. Both of them participated in the development of training videos for the Sanders/Mosby Paramedic Textbook.
The topics of the videos focused on Intramuscular Drug Administration and Subcutaneous Drug Administration. Novel played the role of a patient being treated in an emergency medical situation and Rudloff was the responding paramedic. She bravely sat on the stretcher as Rudloff administered three different intravenous shot injections with the video camera zooming in to capture every comment. Visiontracks producers were very pleased with the outcome, and thought the two firefighter/paramedics did a professional job with their acting debut.
The training videos will be in the next edition of the Sanders/Mosby Paramedic Textbook. This publication is produced by Elsevier, which has the reputation of being the world’s leading provider of science and health care information. Two of the foremost authors for paramedics were on-site to supervise the videotaping session. The production work was done by Visiontracks, a well-known multimedia production company based in Fenton, Mo.
