Assault 1st Degree/ Armed Criminal Action

 Hazelwood, MO, Wednesday June 3rd, 2020 – On June 3rd, 2020 at about 6:02 P.M. the Hazelwood Police Department received a call for the report of shots fired in the 6900 block of Berkridge Ct. Upon arrival, Officers located a female victim who was un-injured and identified the scene of the shots fired as being 6950 N. Hanley Rd, Hazelwood Discount Cigarette & Tobacco. Officer located evidence at the scene.

The Hazelwood Police Department was notified a short time later that an adult male victim and three juvenile victims of the shooting were located at 105 Dunn Rd in Florissant, Mo, 7-11 Convenience Store. Upon arrival, Officer located a 5-year-old male victim with a single gunshot injury to his right leg.

It was discovered that a black male suspect who is known to the victims, approached the victims while they were in their vehicle and began to shoot at them. The adult male victim drove off the parking lot as the suspect continued to shoot at them and the female victim fled on foot. The suspect fled the scene in a silver passenger vehicle.

The juvenile male victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

The Hazelwood Police Department Criminal Investigation Team is handling the investigation.

**** UPDATE 06/11/2020 ****                          

On 06/11/2020 the suspect in this incident, Julius Gleghorn 18 years of age, was taken into custody.  The facts of the above incident were presented to the St Louis County Prosecutor’s Office who issued warrants for Assault 1st Degree – Serious Injury Special Victim and Armed Criminal Action.  A $100,000.00 bond with NO 10% allowed was set for the above charges.
